Let’s face it

We can’t always afford to stay updated. Especially when it seems as if every day there’s an upgrade; New phone model, bigger refrigerator, better shoes, planes, trains and automobiles..

You see my point.

Even landscapes change everyday, and all of these things can stay “current” if they are CGI or computer-generated imagery.

Why?

Product images can be beneficial when used with certain types of media. If you want to have an image of the iPhone 12 (the newest at the time of this writing) included on your website you could:

Take a photo of your iPhone and use that – except it’s 2 years old…
Let’s say you did own the newest iPhone! But your only camera is on that phone so you’ll need to hire a photographer, lighting, etc…
Search Google for an image and hope that it’s royalty free…
Search Google for an image and hope that it’s royalty free and the right size for your project…
Search Google for an image and hope that it’s royalty free and the right size for your project and that no one else in the whole wide world is using that same image…

The background image at the top of this page is a quickly built scene that I felt added dimension and purpose. And since I created it, the camera, the lighting and the colors – I can guarantee this is the only one of its kind. (Until someone right-clicks and saves it for a desktop wallpaper).

Benefits

  • Elicit positive customer response for e-commerce websites
  • Add dimension and aesthetics to projects
  • Show off standing in front of your new Ferrari
3d scene being rendered in Cinema 4D
Two 3d phones standing up

The topology of a 3D element can make or break the realism – if realism is what you’re after.
